Thesis, Surakarta: Teacher Training and udEducation Faculty, Surakarta Sebelas Maret University, February 2013.udThe objective of research was to find out: (1) the effect of lay-up practice udusing simpai aid on the basket ball lay up shoot ability in the male basketball udextracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali in the school year of ud2012/2013, (2) the effect of lay-up practice using repelling board aid on the basket udball lay up shoot ability in the male basketball extracurricular students of SMA udNegeri 1 Boyolali in the school year of 2012/2013, (3) the different effect of the udsimpai and repelling board aids use on the basket ball lay up shoot ability in the udmale basketball extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali in the school udyear of 2012/2013, and (4) the aid with better effect, whether simpai or repelling udboard, on the basket ball lay up shoot ability in the male basketball extracurricular udstudents of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali in the school year of 2012/2013.udThis study employed an experimental method with pretest-posttest design. udThe population of research was the male basketball extracurricular students of udSMA Negeri 1 Boyolali in the school year of 2012/2013 consisting of 30 students. udThe research was imposed by entire population existing, so that there was no udsample (sampling technique). The data was collected in this research by lay up udshoot test. Technique of analyzing data used was t-test at significance level of 5%.udThe results of research were as follows. (1) There was an effect of simpaiudaid use on the basketball lay up shoot. The use of simpai aid made the lay up step udmovement correct, so that it could contribute to the successful basketball lay up udshoot. (2) There was an effect of repelling board aid use on the basketball lay up udshoot. The use of repelling board made the jump high, so that the students could udput in the ball as close as possible to the basket ring. (3) There was a different udeffect of simpai and repelling board aids use on the basketball lay up shoot. The uduse of simpai and repelling board aids in fact exerted different effect on basketball udlay up shoot. It was because both practices had different characteristic, each of udwhich had strength and weakness. (4) The use of simpai aid had better effect on udthe improvement of basketball layup shoot. It was because using simpai aid, the udlay up step becomes correct, so that it could support the successful lay up shoot. udMeanwhile using repelling board, the students orientation tended to be on high udjump, regardless lay up step.udThe conclusions of research were as follows. (1) There was a significant udeffect of simpai aid use on the basketball lay up shoot ability in the male udbasketball extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali in the school year of ud2012/2013, (tstatistic 8.919 > tudtableud2.145). (2) There was a significant effect of udrepelling board aid use on the basketball lay up shoot ability in the male udbasketball extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali in the school year of 2012/2013, (tstatistic 5.916 > tudtableud2.145). (3) There was a significantly different udeffect of simpai and repelling board aids use on the basketball lay up shoot ability udin the male basketball extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali in the udschool year of 2012/2013, (tstatistic 2.863 > tudtableud2.145). (4) The lay up shoot udpractice using simpai aids had better effect than the one using repelling board aids udon the basketball lay up shoot ability in the male basketball extracurricular udstudents of SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali in the school year of 2012/2013 (Group 1 = ud45.45% > group 2 = 28.30%).
