The objectives of research are (1) to find out the student’s perception on udthe competency of accounting education pre-service teacher of Teacher Training udand Education Faculty of UNS in Public Senior High Schools throughout udSurakarta City in 2010 viewed from the pedagogical, professional, personality, udand social competencies, and (2) to find out the guardian teacher’s perception on udthe competency of accounting education pre-service teacher of Teacher Training udand Education Faculty of UNS in Public Senior High Schools throughout udSurakarta City in 2010 viewed from the pedagogical, professional, personality, udand social competencies. udThis research employed a descriptive quantitative research method. This udstudy was taken place in Public Senior High Schools throughout Surakarta. The udpopulation of research was the all XI graders of Senior High School consisting of ud726 students, and 9 guardian teachers. The sample of student was taken using udproportional random sampling technique consisting of 18 students and 9 guardian udteachers. Techniques of collecting data used were questionnaire, documentation udand interview, analyzed further using percentage descriptive (DP) analysis. udConsidering the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that: (1) the udstudent’s and guardian teacher’s perception on the pedagogical competency of udpre-service teachers is good of 69.31% and 75%. (2) the student’s and guardian udteacher’s perception on the professional competency of pre-service teachers is udgood of 67.58% and 75.83%. (3) the student’s and guardian teacher’s perception udon the personality competency of pre-service teachers is good of 71.52% and ud76.67%. (4) the student’s and guardian teacher’s perception on the personality udcompetency of pre-service teachers is good of 71.2% and 80.56%. ud udKeywords: teacher competency, pre-service teacher, Senior High School’s student udperception, guardian teacher’s perception.
