THE EFFECT OF PECS (PICTURE EXCHANGE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) METHOD USE ON AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR OF AUTISTIC CHILD IN SPECIAL SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM MITRA ANANDA OF KARANGANYAR IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015. Skripsi, Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Surakarta Sebelas Maret University, February 2016. The objective of research was to find out the effect of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) method use on aggressive behavior of autistic child in Special School for Children with Autism Mitra Ananda of Karanganyar in academic year 2014/2015. This study employed an experimental method with A-B-A-B Single Subject Research design. The subject of research was an autistic student in Special School for Children with Autism Mitra Ananda of Karanganyar. Techniques of collecting data used were observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using analysis in condition, seeing the data change in baseline 1, intervention 1, baseline 2, and intervention 2 conditions presented in table and chart. The result of research showed that PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) method affected effectively the aggressive behavior in autistic children in Special School for Children with Autism Mitra Ananda of Karanganyar. The effect could be seen from the result of measurement in each of condition administered. The change concerning behavior increase and decrease in each session could be seen before the administration of intervention or first baseline condition (A1), first intervention (B1), second baseline (A2) and second intervention (B2). The change tended to be flat in baseline 1, On condition (A1) session 1=22, session 2=19, session 3=22. And then declined in intervention 1, baseline 2 and intervention 2 conditions. On condition (B2) session 4=12, session 5=10, session 6=8. On Condition (A2) session 7=18, session 8=16, session 9=17. On condition (B2) session10=9, session 11=8, session 12=6. In these four conditions, all indicated the decrease of positive/improving behavior. The conclusion of research was that there was an effect of PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) method use on aggressive behavior of autistic child in Special School for Children with Autism Mitra Ananda of Karanganyar in academic year 2014/2015. udKeywords: PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), aggressive behavior, autistic.
