Increasing the number of residents over the years continued to increase udquite alarming. Family planning programs is one way that can be achieved by udgovernments in addressing population issues. Participate in family planning udprograms is the realization that we can do to prevent a population explosion, udespecially to limit the number of births. This study aims to describe how male udparticipation in family planning programs in terms of gender in Sub District udSerengan Surakarta.udThe research is qualitativeresearch, by taking the facts based on research udsubjects (verstehen) located in the Serengan District Surakarta. The data from this udstudy form the primary data from observation and in-depth interviews with udinformants are male acceptors residing in the territory Serengan. The data that udform the secondary data obtained from the office of village headman Serengan. udSampling was done by purposive sampling and stratified random sampling. Data udcollected by observation techniques and in-depth interviews (in-depth-interview). udData analysis using gender analysis and in combination with the use of interactive udanalysis techniques. To examine the validity of the data is to use data udtriangulation.udAfter analysis we concluded that based on the theory of gender analysis udrelated longwe male participation in family planning programs in Sub Serengan udshow that participation has been done by men acceptors occur voluntarily, without udcoercion from others and associated with the use of contraception (condoms and udvasectomy) is to use a gender perspective, it is evident that the reason they were udusing contraception because they think that family planning is a shared obligation udbetween husband and wife. Disclosure of cooperation they are doing is described udin the reproductive dimension of what they do is collaboration between husband and wife, therefore, for business use of contraception would not be fair if the udhusband demands his wife's only just in the use of contraception. And in this udresearch analysis was also completed with the use of social definition paradigm in udanalyzing the action acceptor in the use of contraception is a social action directed udat others, in this case the usage of contraceptive measures taken by husband to udwife directed. In this study also used the analysis tothe theory of action that is udassociated with the action taken by the acceptor men in contraceptive use is a udpersonal awareness that comes from deep within the acceptor with the purpose for udthe welfare of his wife and family.
