Mini Thesis, Faculty of Medicine, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta.udBackground: Diabetes Mellitus still remain the big problem in the world, in 2010 Diabetes Mellitus patients approaching 239,3 million and keep increasing, meanwhile Indonesia is on the 10th rank and will be on the 5th rank. Anxiety has direct effect to increase plasma blood glucose through hormone regulation and hypothalamus pituitary adrenal axis pathway. This research has purpose to evaluate the correlation between anxiety with HbA1c level among Diabetes Mellitus type 2 patients at RSUD Karanganyar.udMethod: Design study is descriptive analysis with cross sectional approach. Time of study on october 2015 at the Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic RSUD Karanganyar. Instrument of research are L-MMPI quesioner and GAD-7 quesioner to evaluate anxiety score and review medical record to get the HbA1c. Data analysis is using regression analysis on SPSS 17.0 for Windows program.udResult: From regression analysis reveal that anxiety in patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus have a positive influence on the increase in levels of HbA1c.udConclusions: HbA1c on Diabetes Mellitus patient with anxiety is higher then Diabetes Mellitus patient without anxiety.
