Motorcycle is a transportation tool which most used by society. Theudincreasing of fuel price influences consumer to choose motorcycle whichudeconomize in fuel consumption. Researches have been done in the field ofudeconomize fuel consumption, are: motorcycle modification uses induction tubeudand motorcycle modification uses addition of methanol. But, both of motorcycleudmodification, not yet known which is better in economizing fuel consumption.udTherefore this research to determine the best motorcycle modification based onudthe economize fuel consumption.udThe method which used in this reaserch is factorial experiment designudmethod to determine factors have significant effect to motorcycle fueludconsumption. Measurement conducted to modification type factor (standard,udinduction tube, methanol), torque variation of (0,98 Nm. 1,96 Nm. 2.94 Nm. 3,92udNm, 4,91 Nm, 5,89 Nm, 6,87 Nm), and machine rotation variation of (2500 rpm,ud3500 rpm, 4500 rpm, 5500 rpm, 6500 rpm) that have optimal effect to motorcycleudfuel consumption level. The result of experiment is analyzed uses variant analysisudmodel (Anava). Then Student Newman Keuls test (SNK) conducted to get theudcondition of motorcycle with economize fuel consumption.udBased on the variant analysis result to factorial experiment data, it can beudconcluded that factors have a significant effect to motorcycle fuel consumptionudlevel, are: treatment of modification type, where F ratio equal to 649,83 > F tableudequal to 4,73. Treatment of machine torque variation, where F ratio equal to 366,78ud> F table equal to 2,89. Treatment of variation of speed machine rotation, where Fudratio equal to 1.218,14 > F ratio equal to 3,40. The result of SNK test forudmodification factor known that motorcycle with addition of methanol shows itsudthe most economize fuel consumption. The result measurement of motorcycle fueludconsumption level at addition of methanol, with torque machine 0,981 Nm andudspeed machine rotation 2500 rpm shows more economize usage of its fuel.udKey word: modification, machine torque, machine rotation, factorial experimentuddesign, fuel consumption level.
