THE REINFORCEMENT OF CHARACTER VALUES FOR THE STUDENTS IN CREATING GOOD CITIZENSHIP ATTITUDE THROUGH PANCASILA AND CIVIC EDUCATION SUBJECT (A Study on the 8th graders of SMP N 1 Banyudono in the school year of 2015/2016). Thesis, Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Surakarta Sebelas Maret University. October, 2015. The objectives of research were: 1) to find out the implementation of character value reinforcement for the students in creating Good Citizenship Attitude through Pancasila and Civic Education Subject in 8th graders of SMP N 1 Banyudono, 2) to find out the constraints in the reinforcement of character values for the students in creating Good Citizenship Attitude through Pancasila and Civic Education Subject in 8th graders of SMP N 1 Banyudono, and 3) to find out the attempts taken to deal with the constraints in the reinforcement of character values in SMPN 1 Banyudono. The approach used in this research was qualitative with descriptive research form. The data source employed consisted of: informant, observation and document. The sampling technique used was incidental sampling. Techniques of collecting data used were observation, interview, and documentation. Data validation was conducted using data and method triangulations. Technique of analyzing data used was an interactive model of analysis encompassing three main components: data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing The result of research showed that: 1) the implementation of character value reinforcement for the students in creating Good Citizenship Attitude through Pancasila and Civic Education Subject in 8th graders of SMP N 1 Banyudono had been good enough through learning planning, implementation, and evaluation. It could be seen from the learning process indicating that indicator of character values including honesty, care, independency, discipline, responsibility, work hard, modesty, bravery, justice, etc had been implemented well by the students. 2) The constraints in the reinforcement of character values included: (a) the student’s less interest in attending Civic Education subject, (b) limited time allotment for learning, and (c) different background of student family. 3) The attempts taken to deal with the constraints in the reinforcement of character values were: (a) to make the learning activity more attractive, among others, using contextual learning, and (b) to integrate the character values into extracurricular activity and into all of subjects.
