A Moving Collocation method for the Solution of the Transient Convection-Diffusion-Reaction Problems

摘要

An adaptive collocation method is introduced for simulating theshort time diffusion-convection-reaction problem. The method is based ondividing the solution domain into active and inactive zones in such away thatthe collocation points remain concentrated in regions of solution variation. Thenumerical results show that the proposed method is efficient in simulating thesharp profile at short time for the convective-dominant case. The adaptivescheme performance is found compatible with the high-order finite differencemethod, the QUICK method in term of the CPU time and average numericalerrors.
