Evaluation of in-service surface cracking of rolls of continuous casting machines

The in-service damage in the material for rolls of continuous casting machines isinvestigated, in particular, the topology of surface cracks is studied, and their statisticalanalysis is made. Using the results of the microhardness measurements, the structuraldegradation of the material is evaluated depending on the distance to the roll surface.
