Estimates of LTA development and production costs, aircraftudprice and operating costs, foreign exchange requirements and economic viability of the project and methods of financing the project were made earlier. At audpresentation to Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation on the above, in January 1992, it was suggested that the delivery of the first production aircraftudshould be brought forward by at least one year, the possibility of earning even during the design and development phase itself should be explored by the additionudof an aircraft overhaul project and both development and manufacture should be under the control of a single organisation. This report basically takes into account these suggestions. Opportunity is also taken to incorporate these changes in some duties and replacement of exim scrip by partial convertability.
