Analysis of cracks in a tail rotor blade of a Helicopter

摘要

The cracking in one of the tail rotor blades of a helicopter is analysed and found to have originated from the localised corrosion initiated from the inside surface. The corrosion could have been caused by the interaction between the aluminium skin and the burnt resin used for bonding.
