The DFP database contains many resources of environmental interest, but still lacks an important area: the information on nuclear safety and radiation protection. This information is of considerable importance because in Italy there are nuclear facilities and radioactive waste to be disposed of, but this kind of information is not prominent on institutional sites. Information and documents can be found at the local level, on the websites of the Regions, of the ARPA (regional environmental agencies) or in databases such as the Valutazioni ambientali (environmental impact assessment).
