Not many Asian parents will pull their child from school to help out in the family business. AVS Raju, owner of Indian construction company, Nagarjuna, did just that. Speaking at a recent Wee Kim Wee Centre talk at SMU, author Peter Church shared Rajuu27s story, along with that of several other successful Indian entrepreneurs who are making their fortunes in areas such as textile, hotels, and airlines – amid a backdrop of poverty, hardship and red tape.
