Formazione e sviluppo del personale: l’esperienza della Biblioteca di Ateneo di Milano-Bicocca

The paper presented at the "Seminario Autunnale CIBER 2008" about staff training and development in academic libraries combines theory and practice: on one hand we briefly present objectives, potential recipients, objects and optimal management methods, on the other we refer to the Milano-Bicocca University Library’s case to provide examples and operative advices. In particular, we deepen the training process management (needs analysis, planning, action, assessment), reporting some survey findings, the training statistical data and the feedback from attendees at courses organized by that library. Finally, we emphasize the importance of a context conducive to continuing education and exchanging knowledge for a learning organization, we show an example of a "knowledge cycle" referring to the Milano-Bicocca University Library, and we outline some perspectives for the future.A curiosity: several projects assumed at the end of 2008 were done between 2009 and 2011; about impact assessment of the training organized in the years 2005-2008, and about training plan 2009/10 ; about training plan at the University and many courses on soft skills’s management .
