Open Journal System – OJS: Migrando um periódico científico eletrônico para um sistema automatizado de gerência e publicação de periódicos científicos eletrônicos

It presents an introduction to systems targeted to the automation and management process of scientific electronic journals, lists the Brazilian journals in the area of Information Science which already make use of this type of resource. It introduces the Open Journal Systems (OJS), discussing about its main characteristics and functions. It explains the Open Archives Initiative (OAI) and its importance in the context of free information access . It explains the migration process of the old electronic version of the scientific electronic journal Informação & Sociedade: Estudos to the OJS, presenting the most important stages of the process as well as the difficulties faced and the guidelines adopted to reach a final solution.
