Das RVK-Interface der FU Berlin – modifiziert, zentral gehostet und lokal im Online-Katalog der WU Wien genutzt

The article reports on a gateway to the "RVK-Online" database (hosted by Regensburg University Library) that was deleveloped by the Freie Universität Berlin Library for integration in their local online catalogue. It offers hierarchical navigation in the tree structure of the Regensburg Classification Scheme (RVK), searching of the RVK's verbal elements as well as using RVK class numbers for retrieval in the library's OPAC. A modified version of this interface has been implemented at the central office of the Austrian Library Network in order to be used as a hosted application for several local OPACs. The first local library system to make use of this solution is the one at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
