Information kiosks are special information systems. They are located mainly to points where many people are moving, like airports, ports, conference and exhibition centers, museums etc. Information kiosks are also frequently used by commercial companies, as a means for the promotion of their products and services. One of the main reasons for the frequent use of Information kiosks is that they require limited skills and the enrichment of interaction with multi-media elements, like animations and sounds. These attributes make information kiosks popular to small ages and IT non-literate persons.udLibrary & Information Service, University of Patras, acquires an information kiosk. It is a system that provides a quick overview of LIS services, aiming especially at new users and visitors. Except this information, other topics include information about the region of Achaia, the city of Patras, the University of Patras. However, problems with the poor maintenance of InfoKiosk lead to obsolesce and non-use. Empirical observation showed limited use of InfoKiosk and for that reason it was decided to evaluate its usability, as a means of assessing its problematic state and collecting data before its redesigning. The current paper presents this usability evaluation procedure and the conclusions drawn by it.
