Les col·leccions a les biblioteques públiques de les comarques de Girona: diagnosi i propostes d’optimització

A project to establish a working diagnosis of the collections of public libraries in the Girona area (Catalonia, Spain) belonging to the Public Library Service of Catalonia is described. The resources and tools used by libraries in developing their collections were evaluated. A series of proposals for the optimization of collections in the public libraries in the Girona province is presented. The final objective was to allow both central services and libraries of different sizes and resources to manage their collections in a more rational and coordinated way. The project was carried out thanks to a scholarship granted by the Girona province government.
