'Canal Universitario' : una experiencia innovadora de la Universidad de Murcia en la producción televisiva de un informativo universitario

Inside the strategic planning of the University of Murcia appears the objective to improve its image into the regional environment, with the aim to show a more transparent and clear vision of its organization. One of the projects that have been developed in this line of work, is the production of a daily news programme in television, ‘Canal Universitario’, that is being transmitted with the collaboration of Televisión Murciana since september of 1999. Parallely, it has been carried out a digital edition of this programme into the web site of the University of Murcia, making a good use of the degree of development of our electronic information systems. This digital edition includes a database module that allow seek for outdated videos or audios, and a thesaurus specifically developed for this system, in order to describe correctly the information contained into the documents of the database. The interaction of several knowledge areas over an originally televisive product gets an interesting contribution of our University to the emergent context, the Information and Knowledge Society.
