This work deals with the synthesis and the catalytic applications of P-stereogenic bicyclic ligands called 1-phosphanorbornadienes (1-PNBD). Previous data on P-chirogenic diphosphine ligands (synthesis and use in asymmetric catalysis) are gathered in a literature study. The second chapter describes a new synthetic way to mixed 1-PNBD-phosphine ligands. The third chapter reports the synthesis of a C2-bis-1-PNBD ligand using a McMurry coupling. This ligand shows a wide range of catalytic applications. In asymmetric hydrogenation of olefins and Heck coupling, it seems to be competitive with the best ligands proposed in the literature. The fourth chapter deals with the use of this new structure as stabilizer for palladium nanoparticles. Promising results are obtained in asymmetric allylic substitution. This catalyst can also be recovered and recycled. The fifth chapter describes the synthesis of 1-phosphanorbornanes. The donor properties of these ligands have been studied. Possible applications of these electron-rich phosphines are discussed.
