An equivalent electrical lumped componentmodeling of E-shaped patch flat lens antenna unit cell wasdesigned and analyzed in this paper. The proposed elementmodel consists of two identical circuits connected by a couplingtransformer. The lumped component parameters weredetermined analytically considering the physical structure of theunit cell at 4.2 GHz. The circuit was implemented and simulatedusing MULTISIMV10 software. The transmission loss andreflection loss performance of the unit cell can be controlled byadjusting the values of inductance (Lp) and capacitance (Cp) atthe resonance frequency. A low transmission loss of 2.8 dB and alarge phase shift range of 320º were achieved. The theoreticalresults were compared with the CST Microwave Studiosimulations and a good agreement was obtained.
