摘要

This thesis presents a descriptive study of several theoretical elements within the field of International Relations and Political Science as well as a historical fact of the contemporary Ecuador. It is focused on describing the main concepts and theoretical elements of Constructivism, as a school of thought in the International Relations field of study, capable of be applied to various cases, analysis and social processes; and, the International Humanitarian Law, as a relevant branch of Public International Law, which ensures the protection of people who are not involves in hostilities and regulating armed conflicts which can hardly be avoided. The Cenepa War, as a case of historical survey, has been used to apply the concepts and theoretical elements mentioned above.
