Wax Flower, common name for species of the genus Chamelaucium, is a cultivar native from Australia that is starting to commercialize at international level and promises to be a very important and lucrative cultivar. For these reasons it is very important to improve the potential of commercialization of this group through the breeding of new interesting cultivars for the market. Since 1995 Breeding programs are being carried out with the Wax Flower group, especially with the hybrid Chamelaucium megalopetalum x Chamelaucium uncinatum, because successful breeding has not yet been obtained with this cultivar.
