The company that has been involved in this study has ecuadorian-rumanian origins and is dedicated to the provision of oil related services including technical assessment, pipe inspection, maintenance and repair of equipment being its principal service the maintenance or mostly called oil well workover.This company was created in the mid 90´s and has been consolidated its way through the market for the provision of such type of services, to both local and foreign operators engaged in Ecuador´s oil exploitation.At the moment counts with an internal organizational structure that includes places such as Quito and the Amazon Region; it has an Integrated Management System for Occupational Health, Safety and Environment and also working to comply with the national standards that had been dictated as part of regulation for this important complement of business management.Despite this, the company has not yet developed any risk management system for hand related accidents prevention, even knowing the permanent presence of these types of accidents in this and other companies related to this kind of services. For this reason, is imperative the development of the proposed theme in this thesis, as an important part of its risk management system for its posterior establishment; meeting to several literals under the applicable national legislation and most importantly the labor welfare that this provides to its human resource and therefore be competitive in the market by improving their safety and health standards at work.
