Worldwide Microcredit Practitioners have revolutionized the banking system. These innovations have opened those doors that were previously denied to the poor people. The unparalleled commitment and persistence of the microcredit agents have allowed microcredit to break the rules of traditional banking system and to become a revolutionary success that has the potential to be an important factor of achieving the millennium development goals and the poverty erradication. Moreover, during the last 10 years microfinance has presented an explosive growth in Ecuador. It is importante to point out that, managing efficiently a microfinance institution is based on the accurate management of resources and formulation of management models that meet the objectives of the institution. The following research analyzes those indicators of efficiency and quality that allow the correct management of the portafolio which generates an increase in the Economic Value of the Microfinance Institution.
