Análisis de las elecciones a la Alcaldía de Quito 2014 intención de voto de los estudiantes de la Universidad San Francisco de Quito

The election for mayor of Quito in 2014 had two lead candidates who were: Las Augusto Barrera, as the candidate for reelection and Mauricio Rodas, as his first time running for this position. At the beginning of the campaign, Augusto Barrera was the most optioned candidate to win the elections. However, few weeks before elections the situation changed and Mauricio Rodas started to lead the polls, something that very few people was expecting. What happened at the elections, at least with students of Universidad San Francisco de Quito, was that they decided to vote for Mauricio Rodas because they were against the candidate who wanted the reelection. This type of vote is called vote of protest, which in the majority of cases gives a call to action to the most optioned because a large part of the population is not in favor of his work. Nevertheless, the case that happened in Quito is different, because the protest vote helped Mauricio Rodas win the elections, and become the new mayor of the city.
