The following Project is based in the design of a field manual for post-earthquake safety evaluation of buildings, using the Applied Technology Council 20 as the main reference. These procedures and guidelines are written specifically for volunteer structural engineers, as well as building inspectors from building departmentsFirst of all, the Applied Technology Council 20 is analyzed. Later on a Field Manual for post-earthquake evaluation of building is adapted to ours reality. This guide is intended to be a useful tool for all the different types of post-earthquake safety evaluation procedures. ATC (“Applied Technology Council”):The Applied Technology Council (ATC) is a nonprofit, corporation established in 1973 through the efforts of the Structural Engineers Association of California. ATC's mission is to develop and promote state-of-the-art, user-friendly engineering resources and applications for use in mitigating the effects of natural and other hazards on the built environment. ATC also identifies and encourages needed research and develops consensus opinions on structural engineering issues in a nonproprietary format. ATC thereby fulfills a unique role in funded information transfer.
