In this paper presents development to incorporate a Geographic Information System, a public sector company that provides potable water and sewerage, located in the city of Riobamba, Chimborazo Province, Ecuador; entity that has defined its coverage area, and guided by the execution of the work entitled "Planes Maestros de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de la ciudad de Riobamba" observed the right time to implement the technological tool invoked.With the construction of new networks of distribution services that generate CAD drawings format, and historical information on the company, proceeded to fixing the flat on apples using the Geographic Coordinate System Datum WGS-84, achieving position spatially Riobamba, through a field survey using a GPS precision with two total stations; pointing to different parts of the city; for a subsequent geo position other constant levels in the institutional file.The additional collection of non-graphical information, making the effected a junction with the database of users of the company and field survey through customized and arranged visits undertaken in different premises of the subscribers of the company interviews .Once the information collected, it is structured and builds the different layers, the stored information is necessary to implement the required technology platform for these data can be viewed by the officials of the company, through the implementation of a website on the intranet and extranet, it may in addition make changes in several layers published.The work helps the use of technological tools, allowed to possess an indispensable tool in today, to keep an accurate inventory of the infrastructure of the company, maintaining a structured database and geo-positioned; which along with the human talent needed can serve as support to maintain accurate date information.
