An in vitro comparative study of adhesive bond strength among three different manufactured resin adhesive systems, for restoration of non-carious cervical lesions in bovine teeth exposed to shear forces.Objective: The aim of this in vitro comparative study is to identify among three different brand restorative dental materials the one with increased retention force according to their adhesive bond capacity in non-carious cervical lesions using bovine teeth, after being exposed to shear forces.Material and methods: Forty bovine teeth were studied following rigorous inclusion criteria and cleaning protocols. They were placed into acrylic cubes and under standardized measures a V type cavity at the cementoenamel junction was made. Specimens were divided into four groups of ten having: the first group restored with the 3M (Z350XT™) resin, the second group with the Coltene (Brilliant™), and the third group with of Ultradent (Amelogen™). The fourth control group was not exposed to restorations made with acid etching nor the adhesive system.All cavities were restored using a teflon matrix with a standardized technique. Samples were exposed to shear forces at a rate of 0.5- 0.8 mm / min. Shear bond strength tests were performed with a universal testing machine (MTS).Results: Shear bond strength was revealed were the necessary strength to produce a restoration bond failure was calculated in MPa (Stress=Failure Load (N) / Surface Area (mm2)). The first group, 3M (Z350XT™) resin, showed the highest resistance when submitted to these forces. Data were statistically analyzed by ANOVA and no significance was retrieved. Despite the fact that no statistical significance was proved by using "Anova", all groups demonstrated a proper resistance within normal ranges.Conclusion: No there was no statistical significance between the study groups exposed to shear forces
