Comparación entre Histerectomía Vaginal, Histerectomía Abdominal e Histerectomía Vaginal asistida por laparoscopía en pacientes del servicio de Ginecología y Obstetricia del Hospital Carlos Andrade Marín en un periodo comprendido entre enero del 2004 y diciembre del 2004

Hysterectomy is one of the gynecological´s biggest procedures commonly made in women.This procedure can be carried out by abdominal, vaginal or laparoscopic assisted vaginalroute. This is a cohort retrospective analytic study. In this study the clinical histories fromall the subjected patients to hysterectomy were revised. The three hysterectomy types werecompared in relation to postoperatory pain, intraoperatory and postoperatorycomplications, surgical, hospitalization, recovery and anesthesia time. For the statisticalanalysis 2X2 tables, chi square, relative risk a log with its 95% confidence interval wereused; as well as, difference of stockings, standard deviation and the Anova test. Theintraoperatory complications were vesical lesion and bleeding. The postoperatorycomplications were wound infection and bleeding. The mean surgical time was 112minutes for the abdominal hysterectomy, 114 minutes for the laparoscopic assistedhysterectomy and 118 minutes for the vaginal technique. In the different hysterectomytechniques the mean hospitalization time was 4 days and the mean recovery time was 3days. The abdominal hysterectomy had an anesthesia mean time of 125 minutes and both;laparoscopic and vaginal hysterectomy had a mean anesthesia time of 129 minutes.
