The Internet has changed the way people consume information and it has impacted media and communications in multiple ways. Newsgames are a genre of videogames that based on journalism principles inform and educate people while entertain them. This special and relative new journalistic format is not very popular in Ecuador but there have been few attempts that address the following paper to analyze the future of these new formats in the practice of the digital journalism in Ecuador.
