To intervene in consolidated sites is a meticulous task but it is also necessaryto densify our urban territory and improve disadvantaged neighbourhoods of our city.For these reasons, the project is conceived as a Transformation of the existingsituation of La Colmena. This neighbourhood is located in the south-central area ofQuito. On it, we have found the opportunity to explore the concept of Centrality as theorganizing principle of the project. This is possible because currently, we are able toidentify urban voids where the existing houses settle around. Based on this potentialorder, we have developed all the urban and architectonic strategies.The intention of this housing project is to promulgate the concepts ofcommunity and integration. We will analize and observe carefully every aspect of thesite in order to repercute positively in the quality of life of the people. Finally, will aimto find and exhibit the most suitable solutions by interacting with the inhabitants of LaColmena.
