With the purpose of investigating how the recovery of memories of visitors to the museum of science can contribute to the understanding of a museum experience, this research was developed on the form of a case study, with participants from a past experience during the space of a museum science in 2009. This experience was aimed at providing an experience of twenty-four hours in the museum environment, taking advantage of the exchange of scientific, technological and cultural knowledge. The recovery of memories of this experience at the museum, passed after four years was conducted through semi-structured interviews recorded in audio with seven students of elementary and secondary education, aged between 14 and 16 years who participated in 2009 of experience in museum sciences. The data were subjected to a discursive textual analysis, considered from the perspectives of Contextual Model of Learning and neuroscience. The analysis of the memories from the perspective of Learning Contextual Model indicated the presence of the eight key factors model, realizing the complexity and the richness of the museum experience. Under the optic of neuroscience, were five categories of analysis of the memories of the subjects about the experience: The museum environment memories; Memories of emotional nature; Memories of mediation/interaction in the museum; Memories about learning; Strengthening of memories. These categories showed that factors such as emotion, neuroplasticity, attention, memory and motivation influence in the formation of memories of the experiences of subjects in the museum environment. Finally, the analysis has also pointing strategies of actions that contribute to the planning of school visits in science museum. The research highlights the importance of strengthening in the school experiences of the museum environment, retrieving information and establishing relationships with subjects covered in class in order to continue the learning started in the science museum.
