摘要

A lot of researches on the desk and the chair have been performed, but the research on the matching between the measurement of child's body and the desk and the chair in classroom is scarcely done. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the change in children's consciousness and tired feeling by change in difference between the height of desks and seat surfaces in classroom.The results obtained are summarized as :1) The children felt the height of the desks at plus two level in Japanese Industrial Standard just good. This state means the difference between the height of desks and seat surfaces is six centimeters higher than a proper size. And the children also felt the height of the desks at minus one level in JIS too low. This state means the difference between the height of desks and seat surfaces is three centimeters lower than a proper size.2) The height of the desks at plus two level in JIS and height of all the same second size were good evaluations from the consciousness investigation, such as like and dislike, pleasantness and unpleasantness, tired feeling, and easiness of group activity. On the other hand, the height of the desks at minus one level were bad evaluations.3) Many of children wanted higher desks than the one of the JIS from the viewpoint of consciousness and tired feeling. In other words, the children wanted the bigger difference between the height of desks and seat surfaces than the proper size in JIS.
