Incoming and outgoing components of source-free wavefields

Angular spectrum representations for source-free fields are compared with those for incoming and outgoing fields. It is shown that a source-free field is the difference between an outgoing and an incoming field, each of them generated from the corresponding boundary values of the analytic continuation of their angular spectrum. © 1988.
