Widely tunable twin-guide laser diodes with large continuous tuning range

Widely tunable twin-guide laser diodes providing an SMSR and an output power above 35 dB and 10 mW, respectively, over a 40 nm tuning range are presented. Continuous tuningranges as large as 8.2 nm are achieved.
