In recent years, new trends like social media, crowdsourcing and the open source movement have been used to accumulate knowledge and creativity from the bottom up. Various fields have created easily accessible webplatforms to allow anyone to connect, share and collaborate. One field that could greatly take advantage of this is architectural design, which in all its complexity and versatility could flourish in an open and collaborative design platform.Archibrain.org proposes a prototype for such a platform. Here, a network of people can work together asyn- chronously on a given design assign- ment by using a collective interface called the project-tree, which is used to organise their ideas, design proposals, discussions and CAD-files.
