This paper deals with testing and investigation ofchangeable coated carbide cutting inserts with thehard rough face milling process. All realizedcutting tests have been performed on CNC verticalmilling machine tool at Department of Engineeringin Trencin within the scope of the European UnionFoundation ITMS project code 26110230099. Themain aim of this paper is to focus experimentalinvestigation on the impact of the various appliedvalues of cutting speeds while hard machining thematerial Hardox 500. Testing cutting toolmaterials used in this research are coatedcemented carbide changeable inserts produced byDORMERPRAMET Company. Tested machinedmaterial was hard abrasion resistant steel Hardox500. The cutting speeds (55.7 m.min-1, 78.5 m.min-1and 111 m.min-1) are investigated with variableparameters, whereas the cutting depth and feedrate are constant parameters. The pictures of newand worn changeable cutting inserts geometry andthe graph of dependence on variable cutting speedare shown as a result of this realized investigation
