摘要

The paper has proposed a limit analysis procedure for a preliminaryuddesign of RC elements strengthened by externallyudbonded FRP sheets.ud The procedure, based on a multi-yield-criteria limit analysisudapproach, has led to a reliable prediction of peak loads and failureudmodes of the analyzed elements (slabs) by simultaneouslyudconsidering the limit state of the constituent materials, soudresulting very useful in many applications of engineeringudinterest.ud The attention has been focused on hospital applications inudwhich increment of service loads or realization of openingsudcan weaken some structural elements that have been strengthenedudby FRP sheets.
