摘要

There is a limited data base on the full scaleperformance of radiant barrier insulation inattics. The performance of RBS have been shown tobe dependent on attic ventilation characteristics.Tests have been conducted on a duplex located inFlorida with soffit and ridge venting to measureattic performance.The unique features of these experiments areaccurate and extensive instrumentation with heatflow meters, field verification of HFM calibration,extensive characterization of the installed ceilinginsulation, ventilation rate measurements andextensive temperature instrumentation. The atticsare designed to facilitate experimental changeswithout damaging the installed insulation.RBS performance has been measured for twonatural ventilation levels for soffit and ridgeventing. Previously, no full scale data have beendeveloped for these test configurations. Test datafor each of the test configurations was acquiredfor a minimum of two weeks with some acquired overa five week period. The Rl9 insulation performed asexpected.
