Factors Influencing Water Heating Energy Use and Peak Demand in a Large Scale Residential Monitoring Study

A load research project by the Florida PowerCorporation (FPC) is monitoring 200 residences inCentral Florida, collecting detailed end-use load data.The monitoring is being performed to better estimatethe impact of FPC's load control program, as well asobtain improved appliance energy consumption indexesand load profiles. A portion of the monitoringmeasures water heater energy use and demand in eachhome on a 15-minute basis.
