The analysis of economic feasibility for adding a coolstorage facility to shift electric demand to off-peak hours for alarge industrial facility is presented. DOE-2 is used to generatethe necessary cooling load profiles for the analysis. Theaggregation of building information for predicting central plantbehavior at the site is discussed. The dollar benefits and costs forthe project are favorable, providing a payback in theneighborhood of 4 to 5 years.
