The article deals with asymmetry in three phase systems and its relations to single-phase load and short circuit power. A ratio is derivedbetween the coefficient of the voltage asymmetry u, the single-phase load S1f and the three-phase short circuit power. Further is shown an idea toinvestigate short circuit power from measured values of u and S1f. The results of verification measurement which was carried out in a tractiontransformer substation of electric railways 25 kV; 50 Hz of the Czech railways are mentioned in the article too.
