The proposal for unifying the topical safety and security terminology at the Facultyof Safety Engineering of the VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava is presented inthe paper. The paper deals with the descriptions of key terms from the area of safety/security engineering, which reflect all the specialized areas emerging from the priorityspecializations of this faculty and makes their comprehension and interconnection easier.
