Recent advances confirm the focus in modeling mycotoxin inudfew crops; cereals, both small grains and maize, deserve majorudattention. Deoxinivalenol is still the mycotoxin of major interestudin wheat, with some studies developed on T-2 and HT-2 toxins.udRegarding maize, after fumonisins, the interest moved toudaflatoxins. Minor efforts were devoted to aflatoxinudcontamination in nuts and ochratoxin A in grapes. Weather dataudare the main driving variables used as input in all modelingudapproaches, in empiric models commonly supported byudcropping data. Few example of mechanistic models wereuddeveloped, but they seem more promising in the future, whenudclimate change is expected to significantly impact onudmycotoxins.
