Photovoltaic (PV) system has been widely used as one of theudrenewable energy resources. Due to the non-linear I-Vudcharacteristic and changes of the external environment andudload, the output power of the PV array varies according touddifferent situation. Hence, the maximum power point (MPP)udtracking technology is necessary to be implemented in orderudto track for the only MPP on the P-V curve to increase theudenergy harness from the PV array. In this study, two commonly used MPPT algorithm, perturb and observe andudincremental conductance were developed in Matlab Simulinkudwith a boost DC-DC converter to study the accuracy, speedudand tracking efficiency under STC, slow changing irradianceudcondition and step changing irradiance condition.udComparative studies shows that modified incrementaludconductance is able to track MPP faster and more efficientlyudunder fast changing of irradiance.
