Enhancement of heat transfer coefficient continues toudbe an important research area in various fields ofudengineering ranging from microelectronics to highudpowered automobiles. The initial effort in the presentudresearch study is to enhance the heat transfer coefficientudin a vehicle radiator using nanofluids with high thermaludconductivity. The world’s most abundant element ‘Carbon’udastoundingly exists in various structures and one suchudform is tube commonly known as Carbon Nanotubesud(CNTs). Heat transfer enhancement in water and coolantudbased systems with different concentrations of nanoudparticles (carbon nanotubes) have been investigated fromudan engineering system perspective. One such systemudconsidered is a “SUZUKI (800CC) - CAR RADIATOR”,udcooling circuit using different nanofluids to replace theudconventional engine coolant. In the present study, theudeffect of nano-fluid heat transfer to enhance in water andudcoolant based systems with multi walled carbonudnanotubes has been investigated. The improvement ofudheat transfer when compared to water, coolant (water +udethylene glycol 60:40) and water with MWCNTS andudcoolant with MWCNTS has been studied. It has been observed that there is an enhancement ofudheat transfer up to 30% when coolant and CNTS areudused as a cooling medium.
