We present an integrated method to fabricate 3-udD microfluidic networks and fabricated the first on-chipudcell culture device with an integrated combinatorial mixer.udThe combinatorial mixer is designed for screening theudcombinatorial effects of different compounds on cells. Theudmonolithic fabrication method with parylene C as theudbasic structural material allows us to avoid wafer bondingudand achieves precise alignment between microfluidicudchannels. As a proof-of-concept, we fabricated a deviceudwith a three-input combinatorial mixer and demonstratedudthat the mixer can produce all the possible combinations.udAlso, we demonstrated the ability to culture cells on-chipudand performed a simple cell assay on-chip using trypanudblue to stain dead cells.
