Methyl bromide is used as the disinfectant of soil and agricultural chemicals. However, methyl bromide has been prohibited from using except for indispensable uses. Therefore, ozone has been paid attention as a soil bactericidal substance. In this research, ozone generation system with dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) which consists of a screw electrode was studied so as to develop a soil sterilization system. The single outer electrode or divided outer electrodes (DOE) was examined in order to understand the dependence of ozone generation properties on the outer electrode. The ac voltage (5.3–15 kV) was applied to the outer electrode. The flow rate of oxygen gas was varied ranging from 0.1 to 1.0 L/min. As a result, maximum value of ozone concentration (70.0 g/m3) was obtained in the case of three DOE with the each length of 3 cm. It was also found that high concentration ozone was generated by using DOE compared with single outer electrode.
