An application of nonlinear supratransmission to the propagation of binary signals in weakly damped, mechanical systems of coupled oscillators

In the present article, we simulate the propagation of binary signals insemi-infinite, mechanical chains of coupled oscillators harmonically driven atthe end, by making use of the recently discovered process of nonlinearsupratransmission. Our numerical results ---which are based on a brand-newcomputational technique with energy-invariant properties--- show an efficientand reliable transmission of information.
